Irlande-France : la liste des 19 joueurs du XV de France protégés par Fabien Galthié
Romain Ntamack, the fly-half, and Damian Penaud, the winger, are among the 19 players who will not participate in the Top 14 this weekend, as confirmed by the French Rugby Federation. This decision is aimed at preparing the team for their upcoming Six Nations match against Ireland on March 8. Ntamack has missed recent matches due to a suspension for a dangerous tackle during the opening game against Wales. In his stead, Matthieu Jalibert and Thomas Ramos have stepped in at fly-half. Penaud, who is on the brink of setting a record for most tries for France, notably missed the match against Italy and was replaced by Théo Attissogbe. However, he returned to score during a recent Top 14 match for his club, UBB. Notably absent from the protected list is center Gaël Fickou, who has just returned to action after an injury, and full-back Léo Barré, who also performed well in prior games. The 19 protected players will meet in Marcoussis on Friday, and a broader squad of 42 for the Ireland match will be announced on Saturday.
