Campus France, the national agency responsible for promoting education abroad and welcoming international students in France, recently shared findings from a comprehensive survey of 10,000 international alumni on the occasion of the second World Alumni Day. Most alumni, averaging 33 years old, have studied in France over the past decade, with 50% receiving scholarships. They come from 154 countries, predominantly from Sub-Saharan Africa (28%), North Africa and the Middle East (21%), Europe (20%), the Americas (18%), and Asia-Australia (12%).
Nearly 70% studied at universities, primarily at the Master’s level. A significant 96% of respondents believe their experience in France enhanced their subsequent academic pursuits. About half found their first job in France, with 87% securing employment within a year of graduation. Alumni report high satisfaction with their time in France, often describing it as « quality, » « enriching, » and « culturally liberating.”
Furthermore, 96% are strong advocates for studying in France, perceiving French language proficiency as a professional asset, with three-quarters becoming bilingual after their studies. Overall, this study emphasizes the positive impact of studying in France on career opportunities and personal development.
